Kjetil is back on top in downhill

Kjetil Jansrud is back on top in Downhill as World Champion in the fog and snow in Åre. In his last race as a top alpine skier Aksel Lund Svindal was just 2 hundredths behind Kjetil, winning the silver medal. Vincent Kriechmayr took the bronze medal 0.33 seconds behind. Photo: NTB - Scanpix.

After one hour delay, we got a Downhill drama of high class. In the end the audience with a lot of Norwegians could cheer for double Norwegian victory with Kjetil Jansrud and Aksel Lund Svindal taking the gold and silver medals, just like they did last year in the Olympic Games, only in reverse order. The always solid Austrian Vincent Kriechmayr came in third for the bronze medal. Aleksander Aamodt Kilde is number eight and Adrian Smiseth Sejersted number 14. This is really promising for the next World Cup Downhill, which is in Kvitfjell March 2nd.
