Dressen and Kilde in Saalbach
Thomas Dressen (GER) in Downhill and Aleksander Aamodt Kilde (NOR) in Super-G are the winners of the races in Saalbach. Photo from FIS showing Dressen.
Thomas Dressen (GER) took his second Downhill win in a row in Saalbach, followed by four Swiss guys (Beat Feuz, Mauro Caviezel, Carlo Janka and Nils Hintermann) before Kjetil Jansrud (NOR). The Downhill was completed in good conditions, although the start had to be moved down. The races in Saalbach substitute the test races for the Olympic Games in China in 2022 which had to be cancelled due to the Corona virus outbreak.
The Super-G was postponed two and half hours because of lots of snow in Saalbach. When it eventually started, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde (NOR) was the fastest and took his first win of the season. Mauro Caviezel and Thomas Dressen completed the event as both took their second podium in two days in Saalbach. As he takes good WC points in all disciplines except SL, Kilde is now leading the total World Cup of the season, in front of Henrik Kristoffersen, in addition to the Super-G Cup.
And we really look forward to the next Downhill which is in Kvitfjell!
