Course Crew
The Course Crew is responsible for the safety, preparation, and maintenance of the course from start to finish. This includes following safety requirements, managing the slope, and closely collaborating with the ski resort for snow production and grooming. The team ensures the slope is in top condition before, during, and after the competition, focusing on both safety and operational efficiency.
Tasks:
- Planning, setting up, and maintaining safety nets according to FIS standards.
- Clearing snow from the racecourse, as well as removing snow from safety nets and tarps.
- Repairing any damage to the course and using water sprinklers to ensure optimal conditions.
- Overseeing snow production and coordinating daily grooming with the ski resort.
- Maintaining inner barriers and ensuring the entire area is safe from start to finish.
- Manning necessary crossings and coordinating slope traffic to ensure safety for both participants and spectators.
- Handling teardown and cleanup after the competitions.
- ATV drivers work as course crew in assigned zones when not needed for transport duties.
