Timing
The timing section is responsible for coordinating timekeeping and result calculations during the races. This includes both manual and electronic timing, as well as overseeing the start and finish areas. Accuracy and quick result dissemination are crucial for the successful execution of the competition.
Tasks:
- Ensuring accurate timekeeping and green light for the start, while monitoring manual timekeeping at the start and finish.
- Setting up and operating timing points and speed traps, ensuring cables are correctly installed and maintained.
- Marking the finish line and placing equipment at timing points and speed traps.
- Coordinating cooperation between the timing and results company, officials, the venue, NRK, FIS, and external suppliers.
- Ensuring unofficial results are posted on the official noticeboard as quickly as possible.
- Assisting in the quick and accurate calculation and publication of results lists, start lists, and other necessary documents, in cooperation with the race secretary.
- Verifying the accuracy of lists and related documents.
- Setting up and operating technical installations for timing at the start and finish.
- Operating video recording for jury and team evaluation.
- Operating results boards and ensuring accurate display of times and results.
